I feel very privileged to be in a profession that I enjoy so much. I get up every morning excited to be able to provide the highest quality dental care to all of my patients.
What I love the most about dentistry is the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of my patients, whether that is making their smile beautiful, making their mouths healthy again, or being able to get the patient out of pain. My team and I work every day to provide the best dental care to all of our patients. We work exceptionally hard to make every person feel as comfortable as possible.
Going to work at Lakota Dental does not feel like a job, mostly because I am able to work with my family. Lakota Dental is a family-owned business and we are all very much involved. My dad and wife are the other doctors with whom I work on most days. My sister is a dental hygienist at our office, and my mom is the bookkeeper!
My father was my inspiration to join the dental profession. I saw the enjoyment he got, and still gets, when he helped restore confidence to patients who were unhappy with their smiles. I wanted to help patients as he has done so many times, and make a positive impact on my community.
Education and Continuing Education
- Lakota East High School
- Bachelor’s degree, cum laude – Miami University in Oxford, Ohio
- Doctorate of Dental Medicine – University of Kentucky
I take many continuing education courses every month to keep up with the latest advances in all aspects of dentistry, in order to provide the best dental care to all of our patients. As a member of the Northern Hills Study Club, the Implant Study Club, and the Spear Study Club, I have the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with the leading minds in dentistry, which translates into a better patient experience.
Outside the Office
I was born in Beaufort, South Carolina when my parents were stationed at Parris Island because my dad was a dentist in the Navy. Following their time in the military we moved back to West Chester when I was two. I lived there until I graduated from Lakota East and moved away to attend college at Miami University.
My wife, three children, and I live in Liberty Township. We moved here following the four years we spent in the Army at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. It was a great experience being able to serve the brave men and women in the US military.
I have three children, Steven III, Katelynn, and Brooklynn. Hopefully in a few years these three will also be working at our office! Also at my house is our dog Leonard, a mixed-breed dog that we adopted from the animal shelter during our time at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
If I am not working, you can find me spending time with my family, being outdoors, traveling, or playing golf with my friends and family.
I am also passionate about working to make my community a better place for my children and the other children in the world. I enjoy volunteering free dental care to the underserved in my community; not everyone is able to afford medical and dental care, and I am lucky enough to be able to improve the dental health of those in my community who are not able to afford it. I also volunteer as a coach for children’s baseball and soccer teams in my area. Being active in my community is important to me because I want give back to a community that has been so wonderful to me.
